Blessing Of the School Building and Grotto in Malom Noatoli -Joseph Lakra Ofm

After25 years of Mission work in Malom Noatoli parish, we finally have a Grotto as well as a new school building, with the initiative of friar Anil Xalxo and the parishioners the generosity of our benefactors and friars. Above all it is by the Divine Providence, we could have a decent school building in Malom Noatoli. So we had a twin inaugural blessing of the Grotto and the school building on 20thSeptember2021. Our Minister Provincial Br. Praveen Henry D’ Souza, the Custos Br. Tony D’ Souza, Project Coordinator Br. Rajasekhar Gopu, and the newly elected councilors of the Custody, were present for the function. Our neighboring priests and sisters were also present and quite a big number of the faithful who witnessed the blessings of the Grotto and School. 

We began the Celebration with the Holy Eucharist. The Mass started with the entrance dance and the friars were warmly welcomed by the mothers of our parish with Chandan (sandalwood paste) and badges. The Administrator of the Gumla diocese Rev. Fr. Lenus Pingal celebrated the Holy Eucharist. Our Minister Provincial gave the homily which was very meaningful to everybody. He preached so eloquently in Hindi that it was very effective and nice to hear. His preaching was well appreciated by the faithful. After the Mass there was a solemn procession with the statue of Mary, Mother of God with songs and dance. Many friars and other priests took turns to carry the statue to the newly built Grotto. 

Rev. Fr. Rajat Ekka the Dean of the Chainpur vicariate cut the ribbon and inaugurated the Grotto. Our Provincial and Custos put garlands on Our Lady and Fr.Lenus Pingal said the prayer and blessed the Grotto. As they proceeded towards the Grotto to place the statue in the grotto God the Father sent showers of blessing from Heaven. Unfortunately, because of the heavy rain we could not have the blessing of the school building in the afternoon. So, we continued with the cultural program in the church. We felicitated a few of the friars, the administrator, and the people who had given us the land to build the school. After the cultural program we had a delicious meal for the guest friars, Priests, Sisters and other prominent members of the parish. We gave beaten rice and some sweets to the faithful. The program went on very well with the blessings of God. Around 5 o’ clock in the evening all the friars who were here went to bless the school building. Our provincial made a very beautiful prayer and blessed the new school building. On the 21staround 12 o’clock once again we went for the laying and blessing of the foundation stone for the next phase of the school building. Friar Rajasekhar Gopu blessed the foundation stone of the next phase.
