2022 – Albinus Ekka - The Feast of St. Anthony of Padua – 28 June

CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA IN BANGALORE

After a gap of two years, it was an auspicious and memorable occasion for all of us in St. Anthony's Friary Bangalore to celebrate the feast of the patron Saint of our house, Saint Antony of Padua. On 13th of June, we celebrated our house feast with great love and devotion in memory of St. Anthony. On this great auspicious day, we the student friars took leave from our classes at DVK. We began our festive mass at 12:00 PM. The main celebrant of the festive mass was Friar Gabriel Mathias, the guardian of our house. He was assisted by Friars Alex Martis, the guardians of St. Thomas community provincialate and Naveen Gorge the rector of theology students. We had a few guests, the sisters of nearby communities and our beloved benefactors who participated in the celebration to share in the joy and blessings of St. Anthony of Padua with us. Friar Gabriel gave a heart inspiring homily of the life journey of St. Anthony. Soon after the mass all the participants joined in the fellowship meal. In the evening we had an exhausting volleyball match in honour of St. Anthony. We had two groups namely: St. Anthony of Padua and St. Francis of Assisi. The St. Francis of Assisi group won the volleyball match.
