Ordination of Br. Nidheesh

CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA AT TEL-AVIV

Many have called, but he responded well! I mean from his parish many boys were called in different times to become Franciscans, but he batted well till the end of the match to win the cup of joy! Fr. Nidheesh John Molekunnel ofm is not a carpenter’s son but a son of a hard-working farmer Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Solly. Fr. Nidheesh has a loving brother named Dhanesh and a smiling sister-in-law Chippy. His ordination was held on 4th June ,2022 at 9.00 am at St. Mary’s church, Chippilithod. And he was ordained by His Excellency Mar Remigose Inchananiyil, Bishop of Thamarassery Diocese.

On that awesome day at 9 o’clock people gathered in front of the friary to receive the Bishop and the Deacon. Colourful Umbrellas and balloons took the people to a heavenly realm of a celebration. Bishop and the Deacon were given a warm welcome and a bouquet of flowers by the parents and relatives. Provincial Fr. Praveen D Souza, the captain of OFM team led the procession along with other priests and nuns from different congregations. Priests and Nuns from various congregations, boys and girls with different colours of balloons gave a wonderful atmosphere of happiness. A ceremonial parade of Bishop, priests. nuns and the people Deacon Nidheesh march towards the well decorated church with his family members. Church was full with joyful hearts of love and gratitude. The ordination rite began with a melodious song by the choir. During the ceremony, the bishop laid his hands on Deacon, prayed and ordained him as a Priest. Bishop highlighted the duties of a priest to be one with Jesus! Heaven rejoiced and the earth rejoiced with its song of bliss!

Fr.Nidheesh celebrated his first holy mass along with co priests proclaiming the words of Isaiah “ I have called you by my name, you are mine” .After the mass his co-friars joined together and took a photo. And in that photo Fr.Nidheesh looks to be the winning captain of the World Cup with the special Syro Malabar vestment.

There was a facilitation which was presided over by Fr.Praveen D’Souza,the Provincial and Fr.Babu Jose ofm as a speaker. Fr.Praveen D’Souza gave him St.Francis of Assisi’s blessings as a Gift of love and a shawl to his parents as a token of gratitude. People from different walks of life came forward to express their love and Joy to Fr,Nidheesh.

By the time all felt a physical nourishment and went in joy to have it. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and set for another journey of life.

Fr.Thomas Joseph ofm, the parish priest and the guardian with the community members and the parishioners did an excellent job to mark the event memorable. Friars, priests, nuns, relatives and friends came from far and wide in big numbers to add cream to the divine cake of God’s Love! Prayers were heard in heaven and the master of the universe sent the light of glory on that day. When Fr. Francis K.K took up the parish in 1995 and did the “Light revolution” this is the second Ordination in the Parish and first ordination for Franciscans.
