Br. Ganji Sujith Reddy, Ordained Priest For Ever

Br. Ganji Sujith Reddy was ordained to the Order of Priesthood on 26 April 2023. In a solemn celebration held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Shalom Friary, Hyderabad, hitherto Deacon was raised to the Servanthood of Christ as Priest by His Eminence Cardinal Poola Anthony, Archbishop of Hyderabad.

Br. Ganji Sujith was attracted to the person of St. Francis of Assisi and his life, so he made a courageous and important decision to embrace the Franciscan way of Life. Having completed the years of formation and academic requirements, he surrendered himself to the Lord.

The theme for the occasion, “Christ Jesus has made me His Own” continued to echo throughout the event in the prayers, symbols, and gestures. Explaining the importance of Priesthood, Cardinal invited Br Sujith to a life of selfless service and pastoral fatherhood.

It was an emotional event too as Br. Sujith sought the blessings of his parents to renounce all personal ties to submit himself to the Lord to embrace the universal ties. Accompanied by a good number of Friar Priests and others, the Cardinal prayed for the Holy Spirit to anoint Br. Sujith and to raise him to the Order of Priesthood.

The long-awaited graceful moment arrived as Br. Sujith donned himself with the Stole and Chasuble. As he joined the Cardinal, for the Eucharist thereafter, the eyes of the parents were welled with tears.

In his brief note of thanks, Br Sujith recalled every significant other by name who has played an important role in his life of faith and vocation.
